Sitting at a desk for whole group reading instruction, can make learning to read quite a challenge. Kindergartners are easily distracted, require ample space to engage with the subject matter and require the least restrictive environment to learn. Therefore sitting at a carpet will help address these difficulties. By providing a carpeted area, Kindergartners will be more likely to partake in the various reading strategies that help them better connect with their peers and the learning content. Another level of engagement is your classroom environment. It is essential that when my students walk into their new classroom, they feel happy and inspired. The design on the carpet lends itself to the forestry theme of the classroom. Students will walk in with an instant feeling of happiness.
