My classroom library is a place where my students enjoy independently reading books, listening to intereactive read-alouds and write about their reading in their readers notebooks. Each of my students knows the value of the books placed in our library, they borrow them to read outside during recess and lunch and many will ask to take the books home because they do not always have access to high interests books at home. All of the books in this project have been chosen with my students interests in mind and with your support, they will begin the school year with the Harry Potter series, National Geographic Readers, the entire Magic Tree House series and many more books-- all of which will be in Spanish. With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own reading level during Readers Workshop. They will also be able to choose books that interest them; books that that will build up their reading fluency and vocabulary in Spanish, helping my eager readers become bilingual leaders.
