Books, wonderful and, with your help, in abundance. Books have been the foundation of learning for a long time. It’s why Socrates, Plato and Aristotle strove to write down their words. Through fiction and nonfiction students can reinforced what they’ve learned. I will encourage that reinforcement, fill in the gaps, build the bridges, point out the pathways. With books, my students can learn new things. And I can answer questions, invigorate imagination, foster habit and passion. And when they become readers they become, “Master of those who know.” (Aristotle) They will know that, “Books train your imagination to think big.” (Taylor Swift) And these kids will learn that they can climb out of being 43rd out of 50 states in education.
