Students are often intimidated by subjects like Physics and other sciences. I will be pairing project-based learning with scientific literacy in order to engage students in the content and ultimately build their confidence as problem solvers! Even if students do not plan to pursue a career in STEM, it is inevitable that they will face problems and challenges in the real world. We see it every day in the news. I firmly believe what the world needs now is problem solvers and capable contributors to society. As the school year progresses, my favorite aspect of teaching is seeing students become more capable than before, just because they believe that they can! This is where our Physics Superheroes come into play. This year I want to do something different. Not only will we answer essential questions and solve problems in physics, but we will promote scientific literacy through the analysis and synthesis of this text. I believe students will appreciate the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the realm of superheroes!
