These books will be used for novel/genre studies. Students will read and study the different genres in addition to how novels are constructed. My students have a hard time connecting with many of the novels currently available at our school. The novels we have are from previous eras and the students don't necessarily identify with the characters in the books. These new books will add variety to the types of stories my students are exposed to. They will also benefit from reading authors who have a variety of experiences to share.
