The middle school my students attend is in an area that is considered low-income, high-poverty, and high-risk. I will have 120 students who are struggling in their reading, and writing skills. The biggest issue with my students is the drop-out rate. It's my goal to invest my students in making them advocates for their own learning. I want to mold them into goal setting, high achieving readers and writers.
