My students need materials for a zen room in our school, which will work to create a safe and quiet space to enhance academic skills outside of the general education classrooms. Additionally, this space promotes social emotional learning along and a fun place to collaborate with peers. For this project I have requested double desk workstations for flexible seating which works to allow students a change from the regular classroom chair and desk. It will create more space in the classroom allowing students to work comfortably in whatever setting helps them to learn best whether independently, pairs or groups. Research has shown that alternative seating may also assist teachers in behavior management and on-task behavior of their students
