The students need writing materials such as dry erase markers and erasers for their boards as well as large post-it paper to encourage their creative writing during their literacy time. Literacy is such an important focus of our time in fourth grade and the encourage this development these students need these valuable materials to allow them this opportunity to strive and develop. Many of our students come to school unprepared with their supplies and by having these available for students will allow everyone the same opportunities. Having the opportunity to work with students of all different needs allows teachers to gauge what is needed to assist students in classroom success. Organization is one of these important needs for students in my classroom. By offering them the chance to locate materials quickly with personal book bin space, as well as clear identifiers for their desks with cursive name tags, will allow them to be prepared for their day of learning. This will also assist students who are less organized and need that special direction to help them daily in their own classroom space.
