An integral part of my classroom environment is providing students the opportunity to show agency and make choices for themselves. This includes making the best choices for seating during independent work time. Currently, my students only have the option to either sit in their desks or lay on the floor with a clipboard. With just these two options, I can already see an improvement in overall class concentration and focus. The students are more engaged when they are allowed to make independent choice for working locations. I believe that the products that I have selected will elevate the productivity in the classroom. The rug will allow students to lie on a soft surface instead of the tile. The rubber balls will also give students seating options to diminish excess energy and allow students to focus.
