A tabletop light box provides a hands on learning experience that is both engaging and appealing to the senses. The light box allows students to practice concepts taught in all subject areas, as well as spark imagination and creativity. Early learners learn best through play. The tabletop light box will be used during our practice station block to practice literacy, math, writing, and science concepts. The light box will provide an inviting learning space where my students are encouraged to engage in learning activities through play. The tabletop light box also provides a sensory input that is alluring and calming. Students may also choose to use the light box activities as a calming strategy to self regulate behavior.
