Our Title I public charter school is growing its high school! My students will be the first tenth graders and they are so excited! However, they do face a number of challenges: many are English language learners whose native language is Spanish; most are children of immigrant families whose parents have limited formal education; all are economically disadvantaged and qualify for the free lunch program (in fact, some even receive food to take home on Fridays, thanks to a partner organization). That's why it is important that in setting up our classroom, we have plenty of supplies and resources that will help students thrive in school.

About my class
