My kindergarten scholars spend a fair amount of time sharing and learning during whole group carpet time activities. My scholars are noticeably more engaged in their work and are less disruptive of their peers when they have their own designated spot to sit on with enough personal space to help them engage more successfully in everyday interactions & personal relationships with peers. The large colorful alphabet carpet is exactly what they need to help make their learning environment more inviting to them & to give them each a special spot of their own. Personal space is an important social skill that helps scholars to learn, practice, & grow as well as help them feel safe.
