In addition to teaching the standards and making sure students understand and succeed with our curriculum, an important goal for me in the classroom is that student reading levels improve 1.5 years by June and that they establish a true love of reading. In order to make our class goals possible, I need books that the students are excited to read. If students are bringing home texts that they have no interest in reading, they will not be able to practice the skills and strategies being taught in class. Help me build a library of engaging and rigorous independent reading books that will broaden student knowledge of the world and improve their reading abilities!
