My office is a blank slate lacking in the comfort and warmth that I know my students need. The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go, but I need your help in getting everything through our door! The coloring books, markers, and colored pencils will be placed in one of the baskets on my conference table for students to use during meetings, or when they need a space to calm down. The fidget toys will be in a basket next to the chair the students sit in during therapy. Some topics are hard to discuss and keeping their hands busy makes a huge difference. Affirmation cards will be freely given to students in our school; a small act of kindness means the world to these students!
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' mood and will provide a welcoming and calming space.
We will use these materials to enhance the therapeutic setting in our school. Many of our students have a poor impression of social workers and therapists. We would love to show them how loved and valuable they are!
