Teaching Pre-K is an incredible journey! Each child is different, some have never been in a school setting before, and it is my job to lay the first solid educational foundation to prepare them for Kindergarten and beyond. Oftentimes people comment that every time they visit or see pictures of our classroom, the children are "always laughing and playing" or "not sitting quietly at a table"...and they are so right! Some may not understand, but those who DO, know that children in an Early Childhood classroom SHOULD be learning and advancing in playful and JOYFUL activities! Children learn best through play, and by incorporating engaging fine and gross motor activities each day, these little learners are also preparing their minds and bodies for future grade levels. Without strengthening the tiny muscles in a Pre-K student's hands, they are unable to correctly hold writing tools or even use scissors correctly.
