In the book, Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics, Peter Liljedahl did research regarding where students did their best thinking. His study showed that students spent more time on task and were faster to start a task using a vertical non permanent writing surface to do their thinking over using a notebook. I would like to turn my classroom into a thinking classroom. Besides working in teams of 3 and collaborating, all students in the room can see what the other groups are doing allowing for knowledge mobility between teams. My classroom has 2 walls that are full of windows and lower shelves which won't allow for attaching whiteboards to the walls. I would need these rolling white boards in order to roll them out when we are using them and roll them to the back of the classroom when not in use. Thank you for your consideration in advance!
