There is nothing better than an emotional, well-crafted story to deliver a message. 'The Bronze Bow' is a tremendous novel that shows the powerful story of an Israeli boy caught between two worlds. When his parents are murdered by the Romans, he commits his life to avenging their deaths by joining the zealots. When an influential Jewish teacher gains notoriety by preaching love and forgiveness, our protagonist is forced to challenge his long-held beliefs. A class set of 'The Bronze Bow' will allow my classes to explore important history standards in the format of historical fiction. This has always been one of my favorite literary genres, as it has the power to bring you into new worlds that preceded our own. I will be designing the curriculum to accompany the text myself. Students can expect to explore ideas in the text through discussion, use of the ChromeBooks, artwork, and a variety of additional activities.
