Without technology in a 21st century classroom, my students will not have the ability to develop communication and collaborative skills through critical and creative thinking. Lessons need to be engaging and one effective way is through interactive whiteboards and tools for communication, such as document cameras. Students need the technology in their classroom to assist them with problem solving, project based tasks, creative presentations, cooperative/collaborative learning and tools for connecting globally. Fourth graders are curious, eager learners who thrive on technological avenues of learning. They’re challenged and motivated with engaging hands-on lessons, helping them make meaning of life outside the classroom and connecting them with local and global learning.
