We are requesting a large decorative classroom rug for our classroom to use during our whole group morning meeting, phonics, shared reading math, calendar, and social living lessons as well as providing a comfortable place for students to participate in partner reading and individual reading during our Daily 5 structure during guided reading. My students need a cozy carpet to invite them to learn. We spend a great deal of our day on the floor and my students would love to have a comfy space of their own while they take on all the learning demands of 2nd grade. Minimizing distractions and increasing their focus is optimal for helping 2nd grade students learn and grow.
