Research says that students make gains in a foreign language when they read comprehensible and interesting books. By ordering these different book titles that are made for Spanish students, we will increase the chances that students find books that are interesting to them. Students can feel successful when a book is written at their level and they will recommend these books to their friends when they are interesting. We have a few books already and are looking forward to expanding the choices students have. They often come into the classroom and start the class by having quiet reading time for 10 minutes. As I started this FVR program last year, students amazed me by staying focused on their reading and reading more than I expected. I look forward to adding to our library and making it an even more enjoyable and rewarding experience.
