My third grade students are terrific children! They are a mix of boys and girls but more than half are boys. Our school is public school in a mid-high poverty town in Connecticut. We get very little parental support both financially and socially. My students vary in reading ability. I have a few who are functioning below grade level, several who are low grade level and some who are mid to high third grade level. The students are all high needs as far as emotional and social development. They want to learn but often their behaviors hinder the amount that gets done each day.
