Gifted and talented students benefit tremendously from inquiry-based, hands-on learning to deepen their cognitive thinking skills and accelerate their learning of NVACS science standards. My students greatly missed these essential scientific experiences last year during the pandemic. This year we have been working on our scientific thinking, developing teamwork, and learning the Engineeering Design Process and Scientific Method, deepening NVACS standards (3-5 ETS 1-3, 5-PS1-1-4) through science-based mysteries. These essential, scientific explorations build deep cognitive thinking and accelerate learning of NVACS by asking students to become forensic scientists. We would like to continue this exploration by requesting the Cookie Car Mystery Science Lab from Carolina which will help my gifted students build on their scientific knowledge and become science mystery sleuths!
