My students will be using Time For Kids and Scholastic News to read about current events. Every week my students will have the opportunity to read up on current events and share with the class. My students are just now starting to gain an understanding of what social studies is and this will help strengthen these skills. Reading about the current events will also provide opportunities for discussions and debates in the classroom. My students need to learn and understand what is currently happening in our world today. My students hear adults in their lives talk about current events but never truly understand what is happening. These resources will help bridge that gap.
