The resources I have requested all relate to specific labs my students will complete over the year. While we have some old equipment in the school that we have used in previous years, adding newer and better burners, thermometers, pH strips, and chem hardware kits will enable more students to do hands-on learning. Additionally, giving my students brand-new equipment will show them that they are valued, as they have made do with hand-me-downs for far too long. All the labs we will experiment with are tied to our state's learning standards, and these new resources will make these lessons impossible to forget! Reading a textbook makes far less memories than mixing chemicals, or playing with gravity. I literally cannot wait to see the looks on my students faces as we learn about chemical reactions by making ice cream, or when we dissect some crazy stuff.
