I am a firm believer that students should have as many hands-on, visual, and FUN learning experiences as possible. By replenishing the items that I am requesting, we will be able to do just that. Three items that I am asking for are paint, paint brushes, and smocks. This will allow for art activities to take place right in the classroom. Throughout the school year, I often read stories and follow up with some sort of hands-on activity. This is not only a fun experience for the students, but it also helps everything that I taught really stick with them. Another item that I am requesting for my classroom is a color printer. With a constant shortage of both ink and paper, I am very limited on what I can print or copy. I would love to be able to provide colorful and fun resources and worksheets right from my classroom. Lastly, I am asking for new headphones. My students are expected to get 15 minutes of computer time each day. This is a district-wide policy. Many of the headphones in my classroom are broken and not working properly. If I can teach my students that learning can be fun, then they won't ever want to stop.
