My students enjoy sensory items that can be manipulated or can be squeezed and the items chosen for this project meet these criteria. The clear plastic containers will be used to create individualized sensory break boxes with preferred items for each student in my classroom. Each child will be able to choose sensory items to add to their box and these preferred items will be used by them when they are experiencing a sensory overload. The students will have the opportunity to pick new items for their boxes so that they will always have items that meet their changing interests.
