My role as an educator is to manufacture, manage, and modify a classroom that encourages students to make decisions based on their personal needs and preferences. Only in a socially secure learning environment can students reach their full academic potential. When students are given the choice of where they sit in a classroom, they take ownership of the education that they are receiving. Flexible seating offers many practical uses in a variety of lessons. Students can utilize their choice of wobble cushion, bean bag chair, or carpet spot circle while independently working, cooperatively collaborating with peers, or reading together as a class.
