My kiddos are nontraditional learners living in a traditional learning environment. They are little bodies that need to move often & feel comfortable in the place they spend so much time in. Flexible seating and fostering a more comfortable learning environment will greatly assist in the education of the children of a new generation! I will use the wobble chairs, stability balls, & lap trays for my kiddos to be able to be mobile while they work! I will use the rug to give them a comfortable space to go to when working with the lap trays. These are very small steps toward a more forward-thinking classroom! In your next work meeting or workshop when your bottom is numb & your eyes are closing.. imagine what it would be like if you were relaxing on a rug or sitting on a chair that moves around a bit. You would be hearing the same exact thing..but that small change could make a world of difference for you! That is my goal. Making small moves toward great change!
