The impact of colors and designs in a classroom are undisputed and it is my job as a teacher to make sure that whatever teaching space I have is as inviting as possible. Currently, a FEMA trailer is what I call my classroom. I am grateful however, it comes with several challenges. I have to go above and beyond to make sure that my classroom is decorated and furnished. It is sometimes difficult to achieve this because of the many cost associated with the materials needed. With your donation, I will be able to add curtains to my windows, increase the amount of dry erase space to several bare walls in the classroom, and add rugs to my tiled floor. In addition, I am requesting a futon for my reading corner. Since I teach 5th grade, I would love to have some lounge style seating so that my students may be comfortable while reading during their free time. Lastly, I am requesting funding for colorful stools to go around my small group table. I am hopeful that with these materials it will not only boost the overall appearance of my classroom but also boost the morale of my students. Sure, there are many other items that are needed but, I am sure with these key items we are off to a great start!
