My project is to provide instructional variety in my classroom. Students learn in many different ways. I will use headphones to allow students to listen to stories, practice letter names and sounds, and work on programs such as ST Math. Students use manipulatives so they can recognize patterns and shapes, sort, measure, count add, and subtract. Physical objects allow students to learn using multiple senses such as listening, touching, and visualizing. Access to math manipulatives and headsets will make a difference in the classroom by allowing students access to different color and sized objects to visualize, touch, and see new math concepts. In kindergarten it is important that the teacher model the learning first. Next students are provided with materials that allow us to work in unison to practice the lesson modeled. Last, students need their own individual materials to practice independently.
