As a first year teacher, I have very few books for my classroom library. These books will provide my students with the opportunity to read a wider range of genres and stretch themselves with more challenging books. My students will be given the opportunity to be read to during our daily read aloud and have time on their own to to silent read the books they are most interested in. My hope is that my students will be able to find a love of reading as they read new books and discover series that take them to new worlds. This project also includes a class set of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, which we will be able to do a novel study on and dive deeper into reading.
