S. Elementary is a diverse school, with a diverse history. Our building was once part of Charlotte Hawkins Brown, the first African American women's college in the area. S. Elementary is a Title 1 school serving rural and urban students. Many students come from home situations where their parents work hard, but don't have enough extra money to buy them school supplies throughout the school year. The parents of my students are outstandingly supportive of their child's success, and devote a lot of time and energy to ensure they are completing homework, as well as their online work during this time of remote learning. We will be returning to in-person instruction soon, and I would like to provide my students with all of their school supplies, including crayons, pencil pouches, whiteboard markers, notebooks, folders, erasers, glue, and scissors. This will make my instruction better reach my students if they are able to walk into my classroom with all of their materials ready to go on the first day back to school! Unfortunately my school has limited funding, even with receiving Title 1 funds, as most of that funding has gone to purchase PPE and sanitizer for the students. Please help support my sweet students by providing the funds to purchase school supplies!
