I am a first year teacher, so I do not have the proper resources yet in order to really reach all my students. Whisper phones are a great way for my younger students in order to hear them reading and be able to self correct if something does not sound right.I can also use the whiteboards in order for my students to build new words, but not waste resources since these can be used for the entire school year unlike paper and pencil. When my students are able to read correctly, the will find that their weakness will then become strengths. Most of my students are noticeably more engaged when it comes to engaging in games and flashcards instead of just doing worksheets. My group of students come to me for 30 minutes a day, four days a week. Reading can become mundane and boring to them so these supplies will help keep the reading fresh and fun so that my students are well prepared for their grade as well as their state assessment testing.
