My students need quality headphones with microphones in order to hear stories being read online, improve their oral language skills by speaking into the microphone, as well as watch educational videos. This year more than ever, students need their personal headphones with microphones to take home due to some of our students being remote learners. Furthermore, our district sometimes requires all learning to be done from home when there is an increase in Covid-19 cases during this pandemic. These quality headphones are necessary in order for students to cancel out noise going on around them while they're learning. Some of their parents work from home, they have siblings or sometimes participate from outside to access a mobile hotspot. Some students have simple earphones or headphones that have broken and some never owned any to begin with. My students are emergent bilinguals, learning English or Spanish and practice their oral language skills by speaking through a microphone to monitor their language fluency. I know that they will be grateful to have these headphones and will be more engaged in their learning!
