The eight chairs I requested are designed to help children focus, and they will have an immediate and powerful impact on my learners. First, the very old, half broken chairs we now have, I inherited from a retiring teacher twenty-four years ago when I started teaching. I have twenty extremely active ten year olds and many of them have attention issues. These chairs will allow them to move and fidget their bodies so they can work and focus. Sitting in traditional chairs makes for a very long day and I provide them with many movement opportunities during the day. However, there are times when they need to be seated at a table - writing, problem solving, listening, etc... and these chairs would greatly help them.
