The books will be used in my literacy block of instruction. Students will have a personal copy of the book to use during our study. I have found students that hold books in their hands and follow along with the teacher are more engaged in their learning. The books I have chosen are meant to be interesting and unfamiliar stories of survival, student bulling, and surprise endings. These stories make for great literary discussions. These book sets include fiction and nonfiction books. Having such books in our library will help our students practice their reading and learn lots of new information! These books will also be used in conjunction with our writing units. Having books about a variety of topics will help all of our students, especially those learning English for the first time.
