Engagement in a classroom is what makes learning successful, and your donation will help this happen. All the materials I've selected are to help students engage and learn at their own pace and preference. For instance, the class set of head phones are for watching and listening to videos that I've created for writing and practicing math. The printer is for printing out assignments that students need, if they prefer doing the work on paper. The white board markers are just another resource I use with my white boards for practicing math problems or just another way for students to show their work and be engaged. I also make my white boards by laminating card stock paper. The list goes on. Learning happens when students have the necessary tools and resources to engage them in the task at hand. We are in the 21st century, everything is online and technology based. My students need to be able to use graphing calculators and different technologies online to help them learn the big picture and not make mistakes on small technical things. The batteries are to ensure my class set of calculators are always working and ready to be used. All the materials from paper, pencils, and everyday class supplies are to help my students be ready to engage and make learning happen.
