Book clubs are formed in schools to foster and nurture a love of reading to help with student academics. Reading is a subject that directly correlates with student success in all subject areas. Books clubs help students that may not have found the right books, the right genre, the right interest level to encourage continued reading. Reading helps increase vocabulary development, fluency, and reading comprehension. Reading also helps students develop the skills they need for writing creativity and development. Libraries are important, but the right introduction to a book is essential.
