My school will be utilizing a new reading program, Reader's Workshop by Lucy Caulkins, in order to meet the needs of our diverse community. This program is research-based and individualized to meet the needs of each learner and bring about high levels of improvement and growth in reading. One of the main components of this new program that is required is a classroom library that is leveled so that each child may have enough titles at his or her instructional reading level to be immersed in literature and non fiction for up to an hour a day during our Reader's Workshop time. I am looking to acquire several sets of classroom libraries by Linda Serravallo to assist me in an efficient Reader's Workshop block.
