My students need wonderful, high-quality picture books like, Library Lion, I Need My Monster, Chester's Way, and other books to go along with the 2nd Grade Rooted in Reading Lessons by Amy Lemons and Katie King. These books will be our main literature focus throughout each week with the Rooted in Reading series. Each week focuses on a different literary skill, vocabulary words, grammar skills, and writing prompts that students will need as we dive deep into the text to further enhance students' understanding of these amazing stories! These books are essential to be able to do this program. Each book was chosen by the creators to be age appropriate, but yet meaningful and complex enough to have a week long unit. These books are exactly what my class needs to have fun, engaging reading lessons!
