By funding my project my students will be able to expand their knowledge of scientific reasoning far beyond the indoor learning environment. My students love to investigate their surroundings during outside exploration and I would like to help make this a success by adding to our outdoor learning environment by utilizing the STEM Exploration Table. If my project is fully funded the table will be used to transfer materials between the indoor and outdoor learning environment to extend the children's curiosity of the natural and physical world.
Each student will be given hands-on learning opportunities that will allow them to use their five senses. In addition we would need a variety of real life and natural materials to help this project become a reality. There are so many different topics of study when it comes to science! Children can study the weather, seasons, a variety of life cycles, and how to keep their bodies healthy just to name a few. My students won't only grow and develop new skills in the above areas of study, but will have endless opportunities to extend their scientific thinking by exploring with measuring, sorting, color exploration, and the growing process of plants and produce. This will then allow my students to observe, predict, and test their hypothesis in a variety of areas of study.
