I am requesting 10 Samsung Chromebooks to assist my students with life after high school. I teach Economics and many of my students would like to better understand money and personal finance. There are many great digital programs they could use, such as NEFE HIgh School Financial Planning Program, but our campus has a limited number of Chromebook carts and my classroom is outside in a trailer, making it difficult to use them often. I teach Economics but also I teach AP Economics and the resources for available for the Advanced Placement class are numerous, such as the Stock Market game, but also require technology. Having technology available everyday would greatly enhance the classroom experience for these 12th graders. Many lost their home technology in Hurricane Harvey and have been unable to replace these devices, so use of a computer in class would assist them with college applications, research papers and classroom instruction such as Google Classroom.
