I view my role as the school counselor as vital to the overall health and well-being of our students. I am a huge proponent of the connection between our physical health directly impacting our mental health. All students need an outlet for free play and physical activity. Unfortunately, many of our students are not provided that opportunity when they return home from school because there is not a safe outdoor space for them to utilize. We would love the opportunity to expose our students to volleyball, soccer, and disc golf. I believe introducing children at a young age to physical activities gives a greater chance that they will continue being active throughout their lives. Daily exercise plays such a vital role in helping children cope with stress and difficulties they encounter beyond their control. Our students deserve the very best we can offer them! What fun to be able to introduce them to some non-traditional activities such as bocce ball and horseshoe! Please partner with me in helping our school provide our students with the outdoor play they so need!
