What reaches a student more than EXCITEMENT about learning? Who can be more exciting than Superman or Wonder Woman? Our entire day will be themed around becoming superhero readers, superhero writers, and superhero math specialists, along with being all the qualities that a superhero embodies. When kids are excited and teachers are excited, then amazing things can happen! When the students and their parents walk in the night before the first day of school, I want them to be excited to spend the next 180 school days becoming superhero's in as many ways as possible. The cityscape photography backdrop will be used that night, along with many other times throughout the year for fun and exciting lessons! From bulletin boards to lanterns to name tags and other decor, we the kids can’t help but get excited! We won’t stop at decor, the kids can make their own superhero capes to wear during writing time while writing in their superhero journals, superhero masks to wear during reading time, and Superhero Lakeshore character kid awards that can sit on their desk for the day when they earn them. I also love to let the kids move around while working, so the fun express superhero clipboards will be a great addition to movement in the classroom! Behavior is also an obstacle that we have to try to overcome, so the punch cards will be a fun and rewarding system for our kiddos this year! The other classrooms will want to join us and fly along in our adventures in learning!!!
