The beginning of the day usually consists of morning work including grammar/editing tasks, weekly geography, and math skills worksheets. With soft start, students can enter the room and choose an activity from the rolling cart and work creatively by using play-doh or legos to help ease into their day. The ability to engage in a soft start will allow students the opportunity to prepare for the day in a positive and creative manner. Students have many demands (mental and emotional) placed on them during a given school day. These soft start activities help by offering them a wide range of engaging items.
