My name is Mrs. Tanaka, and I teach third grade. Since my students and I spend the better part of every day together, it is very important to me to provide them with an environment that is comfortable, inspiring and fun. I like to create "zones" for kids to move around and learn. While we do have desks, we tend to break out to the library, the main rug, the math center, etc. We break up in flexible partnerships and groups every day, and I'd like for my kids to be cozy as they practice and apply their learning. I have been using shag rugs over the year, and to put it lightly, they aren't too kind to the posterior. I would love to get a nice Lakeshore rug as well as some other seating options, like the floor seats and wobble cushions.
