Having a calming and engaging space for our students will help prepare them to learn their speech/language and resource lessons each day. Our students may enter with social-emotional concerns and have experienced traumatic events in their young lives. The soft lighting of the bubble tubes, lanterns and palm tree, calming textures of the silk canopies and calming sounds of the LED sound and light machine will allow them to calm their bodies and minds. The theme of a pirate ship, beach and ocean will be an engaging way to excite our students and expand their vocabulary and background knowledge. The pirate flag will help to create a fun environment for students to learn. It can also be a part of our lessons that we create around this theme.
