The classroom set up is equally as important as the curriculum. I want to set up an environment that will be conducive to my students learning process. Having a alphabet activity carpet will be play a major role in this process. As a class, we can use the carpet as a gathering place for countless activities. These activities will range from being teacher-led mini-lessons, to working in partnerships, to small group discussions. Not only will it serve as a place to be together, but I hope it will also motivate and excite my students just based on having the alphabet displayed in bright colors associated with the different objects that match with each letter. The donations to this project will help to create a colorful space in our classroom that will only build their enthusiasm to learn and work with each other. I look forward to seeing my students understand that when they are seated on the carpet, they will be alert and productive. My students will be also be able to share their thoughts and ideas with each other. I want to encourage this throughout the school year so they can take this communication skill with them as they progress in their education.
