The Culture of Me is a project that will help students to find their voice, their place, their resilience. Students will use mindfulness techniques, reflection circles, Socratic questioning techniques to build their vocabulary, sense of writing, oral language skills while defining themselves with art/writing projects that make them focus on who they are and who they want to become. The Zafu pillows will help students to focus during the shared discussions, as well as adding comfort to the situation. It will also give students the option of flexible seating to promote their ability to write or create. The guest artist will lead the students in the discussions and the reflections as well as the creation of art, poems, videos, songs that allow students to find their identity and therefore their voice.
