The goal of a MakerSpace is to work together to learn, collaborate, and share. MakerSpaces allow us to explore, create new things, or improve things that already exist. Kids are naturally curious, and with that curiosity comes the urge to tinker; they build things and take things apart—especially when they’re given the opportunity to do so! MakerSpaces encourage that natural creativity. With the addition of a MakerSpace, my students will also be able to practice critical thinking skills, challenge their imaginations, and work together to come up with solutions to real-world problems. The Legos will provide students with the opportunity to build and create imaginative worlds, while K'NEX will unleash student's learning and knowledge of simple machines. Students will be given the opportunity to learn from each other as they engage in conversations to solve real-world problems. My students love to learn, and their love of learning needs to be supported in every way possible!
